“They wanted to buried us, but they didn’t know we were seeds”
Endurance is born from the observation of my society towards the problem’s women live in our everyday life. The increasement of everyday femicides, bring me to think that we are living in a “DYSTOPIA” and how the Femicides are increasing in Latin America in a raise of more than 15% per year. Looking at cases such as the one from Eivy Agreda , where her stalker burned her on a bus in Lima and how women reacted to this and left flowers in the hospital she was taken. Using the hands as a symbol of love and destruction and how it can be use. Resistencia wants to bring up a social matter very common in a Mens world for Latin America society, but also empower women through messages and the speech I want to tell. The collection showcases a beautiful range on colors which clash completely with the sense of narrative of the speech in the collection which plays a very important factor in Latin America soul and colorful self. Techniques such as handmade embroidery, intarsia knitting, manual screen-printing and digital printing as well as laser cutting are crucial for the collection. Finallt the message I want to send through RESISTENCIA is regarding women empowerment in my country, about heritage empowerment, cultural embracement and traditions.
