British womenswear designer, Harriet Eccleston, creates sophisticated designs by contradicting comfortable and oversized characteristics with sharp and timeless tailoring.
Family photographs, childhood memories and traces of the 1900’s family run menswear shop, inspired the HARRIET ECCLESTON autumn winter nineteen collection. Following drapers, milliners and tailors back through generations, demonstrates how an inherited passion never leaves. One hundred years later, an alternative interpretation of traditional mens clothing is launched, this generation, in the form of womenswear.
The collection comprises of shirts, trousers and jackets to form a traditional suit with a twist. Oversized silhouettes constructed of soft touch fabrics, evoke feelings of safety and security. Sharp tailoring results in a distinctive translation of timeless design.
