International name IVKA, which may be equally well pronounced in various languages, in fact denotes a conceptual brand of European level. Articles of clothing created by the designer and brand founder Anastasia Gassi are both elegant and full of revolt and rocker spirit. Formerly, Russian designers rarely managed to combine complicated architectural cutting-out with highest-level textiles and most advanced fashion trends. But now the situation changed.

 Anastasia Gassi was graduated from London Central Saint Martins University of Arts. Anastasia started her career as modern artist working in the genre of “abstract expressionism”. Having been inspirited by world travels and new people, she continued her artistic way as creative director of a fashion brand – and thus gave birth to brand IVKA, unique in Russian fashion.

 The brand’s DNA is composed of minimalism, complicated cutting-out, paradoxical compositions of colors and textures, absence of usual size series, and androgynousness. Conceptual approach to generation of dress allows the brand founder to work at the border between high fashion and contemporary art. Results of the Anastasia Gassi’s activities are collection articles destined to become decoration of a most high-class wardrobe.

 What is IVKA? Firstly, it is architectural cutting-out, which introduces abstraction into the cloths. Then, it is minimalism expressed by use of deep obscure shades and full absence of furniture. Androgynousness referring to the front-line quests of contemporary artists effaces the boundaries, which formerly seemed to be unshakable. Spirit of revolt mixed with good portion of smartness. And with all this – total absence of the “glamour” visions, which are so typical of Russian fashion. Brand IVKA addresses independent and stylish women, who have an eye for contemporary art, fashion and actuality. Absence of size series implies that owner of IVKA articles possesses zest for experiments and ability to wear oversize articles of complicated cutting out. Apart from other things, one should highlight the brand’s highest quality corresponding to European premium-class standards: all textiles are bought from France and Italy, while technological process of manufacture of the products is at all stages strictly controlled by the brand owner. All IVKA models are produced in quantities not exceeding five pieces, what allows to call them actually exclusive.

 With such inputs, it is not surprising that those who first turned attention to the brand were Moscow conceptual shops known by metropolitan public for their scrupulous selectivity: AIZEL, UK STYLE.
