The final day of MBFW Russia, Detsky Mir and Oksana Fedorova demonstrated a colorful Spring-Summer 2016 collection of kids wear, full of the spirit of active lifestyle. Girls walked the runway in tie-dye denim waistcoats and chicken-yellow tutu skirts, and boys, in raspberry-colored baseball caps and aquamarine sweatshirts with small black check shirts jauntily tied around waist. Oksana Fedorova’s capsule collection was inspired by marine theme: dark-blue strips dominated it, and sarafan summer dresses and pants were strewn with elegant tropical butterflies.

The next runway show was by JUNOVA FASHION HOUSE, refined fashion for adults as well as for children, featuring matching combinations of classic suits and cocktail outfits, exquisite dresses for young ladies and tuxedos for young gentlemen. The whole show resembled an upper-class rout, discreet yet splendid. Soft colors were only rarely combined with exceptional floral prints. Fringes and graphic elements were also used.

Contrfasion collective show followed with Victoria Stepanova’s authentic collection. To the rumbling sound of drums, models with improvised elephant tusks walked the runway in torn dresses with trains, adorned with malachite-colored ostrich feathers. AVA11 brand developed the theme of marine mysteries with wiggling velvet seaweed on dove-colored coats, seahorse-shaped embroideries and lilac watercolor splotches on the batik of slinky jumpsuits. Designer Valentina Khan combined the 1960s style with Kill Bill movie color range in sporty trapeze mini-dresses, transparent cloaks, and leather-trimmed seam jackets.

The finale of DHL: FIT THE TIME Young Designers Contest was next on the schedule. All the collections were in line with with the company’s corporate style. Ekaterina Novikova put white and black accents on yellow-and-red color range, whereas another designer opted for trendy stripes and discreet shapes. As part of the contest, Lyudmila Nikiforova demonstrated a new collection, which was nothing like her other ones, and highlighted olive-brown and beige shades. The contest winner is Anastasia Ilina, who impressed the jury with her outstanding and genuine collection, featuring a dress with a puffy bright-yellow skirt.

In her new collection, MARI AXEL experiments with corsets, lace, and transparent fabrics. Most delicate lingerie-style dresses adorned with neat laces and hand-embroidered shining elements. The entire collection artfully highlights the models’ delicate bodies, demonstrating the idea of sexuality and temptation. The designer works with various textures: silk, viscose, openwork lace and meshes.

Designer Madina Varisova showcased an elegant collection inspired by noble marble. The designer’s style is refined luxury with no pretentiousness and discreet cut, though not without the geometrical experiments. Maxi dresses matched with robes, trouser suits, a white long sleeveless waistcoat with straight-leg trousers: all the fabrics are dominated by marble patterns. Purple-black, classic Bianco, green, beige, deep sapphire, smoky grey, terracotta: the color range of the collection is rich and varied.

YULIA NIKOLAEVA ’s runway show opened with the formal black suits adorned with sequins. Classic color range was brightened up with powdered-rose graphic dresses, mint coats and jackets. Stripe was also there, this print appeared on every third model. Geometric patterns, buttoned-up shirts and a lot of metallized fabric: the collection is agreeable and minimalistic.

Julia Dalakian dreamt about a summer of a city hippie in a megalopolis: bell-bottoms, fringe and beaded tassels rustled on jumpsuits with trouser stripes and khaki poncho dresses. The hues of scorching granite of embankments and the blue of the night sky with a million lights shone on semi-transparent culottes, organza dresses, and formal satin suits.

YULIA PROKHOROVA BELOE ZOLOTO demonstrated an extremely feminine, airy, and fabulously beautiful collection. Puffy corset dresses were shown along with slinky soft-colored outfits. Naked shoulders, V-shaped cut on the back: the designer offered a discreet and refined vision of women’s sexuality. A jewel of the collection was a line of dresses that look woven of fluttering flowers and butterflies, and a pink-and-white ombré-gradation dress.

The public gave a standing ovation to IGOR GULYAEV, whose show closed the 31st season of Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Nacre tints of mother-of-pearl shells faded softly on muslin imperial dresses, and shimmering tear-drops of beads fluttered on gauze veils of the hats, adorned with creamy feathers. Royal blue silk intertwined with blue-black velvet, and ash-pink corsets were strewn with semi-transparent gems: the Pearl Story collection outfits created an atmosphere of frail harmony.

MBFW Russia showrooms hosted two brands today: Maison de chapeaux Lilia Fisher and IGOR YORK. Maison de chapeaux Lilia Fisher demonstrated a line of exclusive handmade headwear. The model range diversity and quality are impressive: from short veils to ear hats, classic fedora hats and original bright peak-caps adorned with shimmering brooches. The new collection of the accessories designer IGOR YORK is called FUNKRAFT, alluding to what it is made of. Kraft is a universal material, it is environment friendly, light as paper and solid as canvas. The collection includes men’s and women’s accessories that come in various sizes: from clutches to stylish trolley-bags. The designer ordered special eco-zippers for bags from a foreign YKK brand. Apart from the collection of accessories, there are plans for a line of homewear: pillowcases, small tables and other home decorations.

After the day's events, the official Closing Party of the 31st season of Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week Russia was held in Del Mare restaurant, where Lena Karnaukhova demonstrated the exclusive Black Edition collection.
