Alena Akhmadullina Presented her Lookbook of Pre-Fall 2016 Collection

Designer grasped inspiration for her Pre-Fall 2016 collection from the ancient Epic of King Gesar, an epic cycle typical for Buryat, Tibetan and Mongolian mythology. The poetic figure of King Gesar translates into collection the Asian martial culture through cuts, selection of fabrics and brand's prints.

The collection features two principal silhouettes. The first one is inspired by the Asian national costume and military costume: baggy loose silhouette - either straight or A-shaped, soft sleeve. This silhouette works integrally with multiple layers that structure the shape also originating from the Oriental culture: when one look combines pants, a long, knee-length blouse with side vents, a vest and a coat. The second silhouette is a full ethnic skirt with rough folds along with slim-fit tops.

Jersey is traditionally a big part of the collection. For PF16 designer chose jersey with double-cloth weave along with geometric fur decorations which create an effect referring to the Asian military costume. The collection also features plain jersey garments of pure cashmere that are in line with collection's general principles: length straight tunics with side vents worn with pants.

Prints reveal the theme of the Asian landscape playing a role of background for telling the King Gesar’s story. Massive decorations that have lately become typical for brand's collections continue the theme: mountains, clouds and other details performed as shevrons sewn onto net.

The pictures of Asian nature transfer to the fur line where they are created with intarsia technique with different types of fur - mink, caracul and fox. Other fur pieces were inspired by Asian caftan and adorned by welting - a technique that also goes back to the Asian culture.

Colours of the collection are grey, beige, brown, dark-blue - colours of the Oriental mountain and steppe landscape. Fabrics: silk, rugged taffeta along with jacquard with patterns made in the technique of phil-coupe that imitates the texture of the military costume.
