On 15 October agenda of the festival Art Heritage included lecture from the expert Electra Kanestri - Russian Costume and Folklore in Collections of European Fashion Houses. She told the audience how colours, cuts, iconic clothing pieces refer to associations of certain culture. Some tints of red, fur trim, head wear, shawls, muff, kokoshnik and certain patterns contribute to creating looks in Russian style. In our era of globalization ethno-mix, a mixture of cultural references, is gaining popularity. Allusions to Russian aesthetics in any possible form are used by the world known fashion houses linking them to their own specific codes. Elektra elaborated on the collections from Tory Burch, Dior, Chanel, Hermes, Valentino, John Galliano that were inspired by Russian literature, national art, Diaghilve ballet costumes and avant-garde.
Another event of the day was meeting with professor of International School of Fashion Polimoda - Niccolo Sbaraglia. He shared the experience of Italian designers in the field of using new technologies for manufacturing items of leather and metals. Niccolo brought samples of jewellery, coats and bags; told about the technical part of manufacturing process and invited the audience to try on the appealing items.
Apart from that, the third day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia hosted workshop Mikhaylov Lace-Making.
