The shows will be held at a new location, at the major historical space of the Manege Central Exhibition Hall.
Ianis Chamalidy presented his first collection when he was 17. This designer of the year created stage images for St. Petersburg Olympic champions in figure skating twice. The designer created his new collection EMANATIO CREATURAE (Emanation of Creation) inspired by the Renaissance.
VIKKI brand will for the second time present its collection in the MBFashionDay. Victoria Afanasieva follows the ‘think small’ principle. She uses IT-technologies to present ingenious solutions like scanned pictures of brain neurons in her clothes.
Anastasia Dokuchaeva is a young brand that presented its debut collection in March during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Velvet suits, bomber jackets and sporty chic. The collection by Anastasia Dokuchaeva is intended to create a wow-effect.
The jury of the New Names in Design 2017 contest organized by Sobaka.Ru magazine in collaboration with the Russian Fashion Council has chosen the designers to take part in the runway shows: Alisa Gagarina, Ilya Petrov (Boston) and his Dress Up Hero brand, as well as PSSP, UMI (Tbilisi), LOH Apparel (Minsk), Natasha Timofeeva (Rostov), Olga Chernoschekova, Anna Polyakova. Ladygina and Amplituda won the online vote. On April 1 the designers will participate in a collective runway show during MBFashionDay. This year the catwalks will be featuring celebrities wearing looks created by the MBFashionDay designers: actresses Karina Razumovskaya and Polina Tolstun, singer Amy Peters, artists Irina Drozd and Victor Kudryashov, models Nastya Shantseva and Uliya Lavrova, Instagram blogger Alberta Berlin, architect Evgenia Godunova and art expert Irina Oganova will attend the shows.
Igor Gulyaev will present the new brand collection in St. Petersburg. The collection includes 100 looks that are absolutely different from previous works of this designer. IGOR GULYAEV show will be the start of the federal educational contest for talented children and teenagers as part of the Generation M creative charitable contest organized by MTS, the fashion division of which is held in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.
During that round of the contest young designers in five cities, which are Saint Petersburg, Krasnodar, Samara, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg, will have a chance to meet in person with Russia's leading designers, including Igor Gulyaev, will have their creative works evaluated and will attend professional runway shows. The round will complement the main online program of Generation M fashion division: during that all-Russia contest children from every corner of the country can upload at pokolenie.mts.ru their own sketch of a dress for Polina Gagarina, who is one of the project's masters of vocals. The top three of the contestants will have a unique opportunity to create their own collection under the guidance from Igor Gulyaev, Dasha Gauser and Vyaсheslav Zaitsev and present it on the catwalk of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia in October of 2017.
