Third day of the 30th anniversary season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia
The third day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week started with the kids fashion festival which featured collection of the kids clothing from the company Detsky Mir. Garments with forest prints of wild animals together with natural fabrics, bright colours and functional pieces took the runway.
Kids fashion festival was followed by the new collections from CONTRFASHION project: Victoria Stepanova, Maria Nazarova and Mila Ovchinnikova, Ksenia Shklyaeva, Alena Andreeva.
When designing the collection Victoria Stepanova, for instance, was inspired by the inner world of people who do not have very attractive looks. Ksenia Shklyaeva showed the monochrome line inspired by such symbolic object as clean sheet of paper as the general beginning of everything.
AVA11 brand that hides behind the designer duet of Mila Ovchinnikova and Maria Nazarova presented their new collection Follow in which the girls mixed the simple shapes - all pieces of the closet are entirely functional and are mixed with the complex elements of adornment, for example, massive beaded prints.
Alena Andreeva demonstrated her collection Prom-motion which was highlighted by the hi-tech fabrics.
The next on the catwalk was brand 075(ohseventyfive) by Julia Ceasar. She presented her new Fall-Winter collection 2015/16 Woe from Foggy Wit which quoting the designer is all about the poetic soul, vodka and bears. There were sweatshirts with prints and without, baggy pyjama-like suits, national symbols and mesh bag as the overarching point of the collection. In general, the collection can be called controversial but commercially oriented and rather typical for the brand.
Georgian designer Goga Nikabadze took the inspiration from the nature of his hometown Batumi. Fall-Winter collection 2015/16 is full of warm colour shades - ochre, brick-red, burgundy that are blended with bright insets of dark-blue and emerald. Major piece of the line was the cashmere coat with wide belts, lengthy jackets and silk evening gowns.
The designer Julia Dalakian in her new Fall-Winter collection 2015/16 traditionally used only natural fabrics - wool, silk, woven felt, cotton. Glass pendants in knitted pattern made the garment glitter and shine. Original textile painting was another decorative element, the patterns reminded of the worn frescoes and of architectural elements. Colour palette of the collection: graphite-grey, smoky-grey, white, beige, light-blue.
As for designer Julia Nikolaeva, in her Fall-Winter collection graphical elements were combined with the feminine but at the same time formal floor-sweeping dresses. Reserved colours and straight lines were balanced with boa feathers which decorated lengthy tops and with glittering fringe which refers us to the fashion of 30s. Among interesting details were the detachable massive collars, flat hats and massive floral appliqués made of felt.
BGN show styled by Alexander Rogov took the runway with the Fall-Winter collection 2015/16 and featured such classic pieces as pencil-skirts, pipestem pants, cashmere cardigans. Fringe, ling leather gloves, rich colours - those were the details that enriched the collection.
The third day of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia was completed by the début show of designer Peter Yakovlev for the brand SAKHABULT. The collection featured fur outwear of Arctic fox, mink, musk beaver, wolf, fox and squirrel, all with the elements of beading or sequin. As designer commented, the collection was inspired by the rich culture of Yakutia and its people.
Besides this day could enjoy the collection from such brands as OTTEPEL (thaw), Ksenia Knyazeva, Maria Golubeva.
OTTEPEL is the brand founded by Roxana Adilbekova that unites two urban cultures, those of Almaty and New York. The brand was inspired by the thaw historical period which featured Khrushcev's times when one could smell the freedom of speech and expression. All garments of the new collection are made in bright colours and with application of contrast textures.
Ksenia Knyazeva showed her collection Alenky Tsvetochek (Scarlet-red Flower) inspired by the same-named fairy-tale. The philosophy of the brand is ultimate femininity. Evening and cocktail dresses of different lengths and sequin coats make up the principal line.
Maria Golubeva is one of the all-time participants of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. This time she presented a line of evening gowns in three basic colours - beige, black and red. Wraps of feathers, fringe, detachable jabot, peplums, collars and other adornment elements - all were used to highlight the individuality of every dress.
Also on 29 March Hotel Grand Mariotte hosted the press-day of Saint-Tokyo brand where journalists could interview the designers of the brand and look at their latest collection.
